The Crocker Range rises dramatically from the west coast and the rugged landscape is crowned by its highest peak, Mt Kinabalu (4,092m). Just 35 minutes from Kota Kinabalu and 1400 ft a.s.l. into the range is Sinurambi, a private home of Terry and Rose Mills who manages this stunning residence as a cozy homestay.<\/p>\n

The views are simply breathtaking with the entire city of Kota Kinabalu spread out below and to the north Mt. Kinabalu dominate the skyline. The coastline and emerald islands dotting the ocean can be seen far off in the distance. Sinurambi brings a new level of comfort and sophistication to the concept of ‘Home Stay’. If you are tired of humdrum hotel accommodation you may find this exactly what you are looking for. The accommodation comprises:\u00a0“The Honeymoon Cottage”<\/strong>\u00a0is very private and tucked just below the main house. It has private balconies overlooking the Marine Park, Mount Kinabalu and the entire city.<\/p>\n

“Pat’s room”<\/strong>\u00a0has a marble lined shower room and French Windows open on to a private breakfast area with sweeping views to the ocean and Mount Kinabalu. This newly decorated room is the coolest room in the house. It can be configured as a twin or double bedroom.<\/p>\n

“The Mt.Kinabalu Cottage”<\/strong> is located opposite Pat’s room and together they make an ideal family suite. It has a private breakfast area and shares the main west-facing balcony. This four poster bedroom has a fantastic view of the hills, valleys, and Mount Kinabalu.<\/p>\n

“The Otters House”<\/strong> is a detached apartment with a most romantic bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and private balcony with panoramic views of the South China Sea. It’s the quietest room in Sinurambi.<\/p>\n

On the first floor is situated\u00a0“Quentin’s Room”<\/strong>, which comes with a 4 poster bed, a marble shower room, and a private balcony with views across the Crocker Range to Mount Kinabalu. On a clear morning, you will wake up looking at Mount Kinabalu – in bed!<\/p>\n

The Tower: With its 360-degree views, this room has twin beds and shares a bathroom on the first floor and, of course, it has a balcony. It is the best lookout point in town!<\/p>\n

Explore the lovely walks around Sinurambi or schedule a trip to nearby Donggongon market for some cultural immersion. There is a river 10 minutes down the road where you can swim with freshwater fishes. Some areas are shallow enough for kids to splash and play. Facilities available for guests include a snooker room, library and office with internet and a swimming pool. Satellite TV is available in the lounge. Services include laundry and the maids are on duty from 6 am until late. Breakfasts are both Eastern and Western. Breakfast is always served outside on the verandah with views across the islands, rainforest, and Mount Kinabalu.<\/p>\n

If you can’t tear your self away to visit the myriad local attractions, lunch is available on request. Dinner is normally taken in the main dining room along with your hosts and other guests but can be served by the poolside, on the open balcony, or in your room by request.<\/p>\n
