The majestic Mount Kinabalu cannot be missed while you are in Sabah. Legend has it a grand dragon guarding a large pearl once resides atop the peak but legends aside the many myths and legends surrounding this mystical mountain never fails to attract both locals and foreigners alike. If wildlife is more of your interest, look no further as Kinabatangan Wetlands has the most to offer in Sabah. The proboscis monkeys are generally the main attraction as they are really a bunch of them by the river banks of Kinabatangan. Cruise up the river and bask in the twilight as you search for the other wild animals and if you are in luck, Pygmy Elephants by the herds or perhaps a cast-out male Orang Utan will be more than rewarding. Make sure your camera are fully charged, you might get to see more rare species since most of them are on the verge of endangered levels. SIPADAN island is just as what the late ocean ambassador Jacques Costeau would put it “I have seen other places like Sipadan, 45 years ago, but now no more.
